Air filters are found in air conditioners- both central A/Cs and portable or window ones. Dirty filters kill your A/Cs efficiency. So clean or replace your filter every three months to have prime energy efficiency. It will help your energy bill as well! By replacing/cleaning your filter regularly, you will reduce your energy consumption by almost 15%! 

Indoor air pollution is among the top five environmental health risks, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Air filters help reduce this risk by decreasing or eliminating indoor air pollutants, such as dust, smoke, pollen, animal dander, and even particles and gas generated from cooking stoves, pesticides and cleaning products.
