I've been traveling for work all this month, and with the holidays coming up it got me thinking about small things you can do while traveling that will make a big difference. One tip that makes a big difference is to opt out of room cleaning services when staying in a hotel. Only request it when you truly need it.

Hotels contribute 60 million tons of CO2 emissions annually due to uninformed guests and wasteful policies. Hotels produce tons of trash and billions of gallons of water all resulting in damaging carbon emissions. By choosing to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your hotel door, you will help the hotel save over 6,000 gallons of water per month and reduce your carbon footprint! Skipping on maid service also helps reduce your exposure to cleaning chemicals. Unless you’re lucky, you probably don’t have a maid picking up after you at home. You don’t need maid service while you’re away either.

So #GoWilde and pick "Do Not Disturb"!
